Intensive English Program: Classes
East Carolina University Language Academy (ECULA) is an academically-focused Intensive English Program. It gives students the language skills they need to succeed in today’s academic and professional environments.
ECULA offers three levels of instruction: High Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced. Students across all levels are immersed in a skills-based program with separate courses in the four main skills of reading, writing, grammar, and listening/speaking. Students also take part in the Conversation Partners Program that pairs volunteer domestic ECU students with ECULA students for general conversation practice.
Classes meet four days a week, Monday – Thursday, with Friday being reserved for student activities and field trips.
