Global Academic Initiatives

Global Academic Initiatives (GAI) is a unique unit within Global Affairs that uses innovative technology based learning strategies to provide high-impact, interactive global education experiences from right here on the ECU campus.

• We provide real-time opportunities for students to have discussions and collaborate on projects with peer students at our partner institutions throughout the world.
• We work with individual faculty and campus units to help them design and incorporate technology based international experiences into their courses and activities.
• We help students better understand both themselves and their place in the world as well as how to understand, respect and effectively collaborate with individuals from diverse cultures.
• Since its inception in 2004, over 17,000 students have participated in GAI activities worldwide.
