ECU Classrooms
Our ECU Classrooms are located in the Palazzo Stiozzi Ridolfi on the main street of Certaldo Alto. The arched door of the white building in the photo below is the entrance to our school. The windows above are apartments where our students live.
The rooftop in the lower right of the below photo is over our classrooms, and the other rooftops surrounding this courtyard are our student and faculty apartments. You can also see the lower city, Certaldo Basso, where we shop.
Our bright, spacious, newly renovated classrooms have wireless Internet with a copy machine, scanner, large and small format ink-jet and laser printers, computer workstations and up-to-date ventilation and heating.
For those taking art classes, our studio is equipped with tool kits for checkout, safety equipment and excellent ventilation. Classroom setup includes individual workstations as well as shared critique and study areas.
On beautiful days we may hold classes outdoors in our lovely Tuscan courtyard.
Italian language, world history, art history, geology, drawing, photography and Italian literature classes often meet at other locations in Italy for experiential, immersive learning.
